Truett Wayne Osmun Obituary HICKSVILLE, OH — Family, friends, and the local community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Truett Wayne Osmun, a vibrant 2-year-old boy whose life was tragically cut short. Truett passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Born on March 8, 2024, in Bryan, Ohio, Truett was the beloved son of Cierra Douglas and Drake Osmun. From a young age, he brought immense joy to everyone around him with his adventurous and loving personality. He especially loved playing with his toy trucks and tools, and he was happiest when he was outside exploring. Truett was known as his dad Drake’s little shadow, always eager to join in whatever his father was doing. He also cherished snuggling with his mom Cierra and giving her sweet kisses. His expressive pouty face when things didn’t go his way, combined with his curious and exploratory nature, made him a delight to be around. He loved playing with his siblings and discovering the world in his own unique way.
Truett is survived by his loving parents, Cierra Douglas and Drake Osmun; his siblings Scarlette, Kendyl, and Riggins; grandparents including Jason Douglas; and great-grandparents Peggy Vaughn of Hicksville, Vernon and Pam Ingram of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Christine Douglas of Quincy, Michigan. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Dale Osmun and great-grandparents Richard and Donna Osmun and Gary Douglas.
Private services are being held through Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home in Hicksville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested live plants or wind chimes, and memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o Drake Osmun.
Though his time on earth was far too brief, Truett’s bright spirit, infectious curiosity, and unconditional love have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. The community continues to rally around the family during this difficult time, sharing memories of a little boy who lit up rooms with his playful energy and sweet nature. Tributes highlight the deep family bonds and the positive light Truett brought into the lives of those around him.
